Organisation
The Organisation hereby constituted is a body operating within Europe representing a community known as the Sattavis Gam Patidar whose ancestry originated from gams (villages) from the Charotar in the State of Gujarat which are members from time to time of Shree Charotar Moti Sattavis Leva Patidar Samaj registered under number F/395/Kheda as a charitable institution in the State of Gujarat or gams recognised by this Organisation (each such gam is herein referred to as an ‘Associated Gam’). This Organisation shall be called SHREE SATTAVIS GAM PATIDAR SAMAJ (EUROPE) and shall be referred to in this Constitution as “THE SAMAJ”.
Objective
(a)The objectives of The Samaj shall be:-
The advancement of the Hindu religion generally but in particular among the Sattavis Gam Patidar
The relief of poverty sickness and distress arising there from generally but in particular among the Sattavis Gam Patidar
The advancement of education generally but in particular among the Sattavis Gam Patidar
The provision or assistance in the provision of facilities for the recreational cultural and other activities for the Sattavis Gam Patidar who have need of such facilities by reason of their age infirmity disability or social circumstances in each case with the aim of improving their quality of life
He advancement of Gujarati language literature history culture and tradition; and to do such other things anywhere as may be deemed charitable within England and Wales

Samaj History

Patel Charotar were known as Patidar who defined “GOR” as Samaj or Union for their organisations “Gor” known in Patel Community of Charotar District in Gujarat arrived from Sanskrit “Gotra”. These Gor or groups of villages were formed for arranged marriage relationship system within the fold of their own Gor. Now old barriers of such group and confine wedding relationship within own groups is diminishing or ignored and Social Reforms are adopted by many individuals in todays progressive lifestyle. Yet these Gor or groups are not dismantled but has enlarged their groups and added more villages in their Gor. In some villages only few families have joined different Gor.

Patidars of Gujarat are the descendants of Aryans. Aryans were settled on the Pamir’s High Lands near River AMU in Central Asia. From these Aryans, one group went towards Europe, the second to Iran and third came to Punjab, India via Afghanistan.
